There is no single best astrologer in Dhaka, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What exists is a set of things a competent astrologer does and an incompetent one cannot fake: your chart is prepared before you arrive, every statement traces back to a specific placement, you are given timing rather than vague outcomes, and you are told plainly when the chart does not answer your question. Judge on those four things and the field narrows very quickly.
I am an astrologer in Dhaka myself, so read this knowing where it comes from. I have also sat as a client in other people’s chambers, in this city and elsewhere, and some of what follows is the result of paying money for readings that were worth nothing.
Why the “top 10 astrologers in Dhaka” lists are useless
You have probably found a few. They rank practitioners one to ten, usually with a photograph and a paragraph of praise.
Almost all of them are paid placements. The site owner charges for a slot, or takes a commission on bookings, or simply lists whoever gave them content. Nobody sat in ten chambers and compared the readings. The ranking measures willingness to pay for a ranking.
This is not unique to Bangladesh, but it is worse here, because there is no professional body, no register, no qualification anyone can check. A man who read three books last year and a man who has been casting charts for thirty years describe themselves in exactly the same words.
So you cannot outsource this judgement. You have to make it yourself, which is the whole reason this page exists.
The four tests that actually separate practitioners
1. Is your chart prepared before the session?
This is the single most revealing question, and it costs nothing to ask.
A serious astrologer asks for your date, exact time and place of birth when you book, and studies the chart before you arrive. Divisional charts, the dasha sequence, current transits — that work takes an hour or more and cannot be done while you sit watching.
If your chart is generated in front of you on a phone app in ninety seconds, you are paying a consultation fee for something you could have done yourself for free.
2. Can they show you their reasoning?
Ask why. Every single time.
“You will face difficulty in your career” is not a reading. “Saturn is transiting your tenth house from the natal Moon, and you are running a Saturn-Mercury period until late 2027, which is why the pressure is coming through work specifically rather than health” is a reading. You do not need to understand the technical vocabulary. You need to hear that one exists and that it is consistent.
An astrologer who cannot show you the working is either guessing or reading your face rather than your chart. Both are common. Cold reading — watching your reaction and adjusting — is a real skill, and it feels remarkably like accuracy from the client’s chair.
3. Do they give you timing?
Astrology’s actual usefulness is timing. Not whether something will happen, but when conditions favour it.
“You will marry” is worthless — nearly everyone does. “The period from October 2027 through mid-2029 is the strongest window in your chart for it, and here is why the two years before that are not” is something you can plan around.
A practitioner who only produces outcomes without periods is not using the tools properly. Dashas and transits are where the technique lives.
4. Do they ever say they do not know?
Charts are frequently ambiguous. Birth times are often wrong. Two techniques disagree and there is no clean resolution.
An astrologer who is certain about everything is certain about nothing. The willingness to say “the chart is unclear here” or “I would not put weight on this” is, in my experience, the strongest single indicator of competence. It is also the rarest, because uncertainty does not sell.
The red flags
Fear as the opening move. If the first thing you hear is that you have a serious dosha, a curse, or black magic on you, and the second thing is what it will cost to remove — leave. This is the oldest structure in the trade and it works because fear stops people from asking questions.
Remedies you must buy from them. A gemstone recommendation should come with a full specification: stone, weight, metal, finger, timing. You should then be free to buy it anywhere. If the stone must come from the astrologer’s own case, the reading was a sales appointment.
Every chart needs something. Many charts need no remedy at all. If a practitioner has never once told a client that everything is fine and nothing is required, ask yourself how likely that is.
Guaranteed outcomes. Nobody can guarantee a marriage, a visa, a job or a child. Astrology describes tendencies and timing. Anyone promising certainty has left the subject entirely.
Pressure to return. One reading, then another next month, then a puja, then a longer puja. Good readings are not designed to require sequels.
Won’t discuss price before you sit down. Related to the first flag. A low entry fee that opens into expensive remedies is the standard model in this city, which is why I publish a single flat fee and never charge more.
What a good first session actually looks like
You send your birth details in advance. Someone confirms the time and place, and asks whether you are certain about the time — because most people are not, and it matters.
You arrive, or you dial in, and the astrologer already knows your chart. They ask what you actually want to discuss, and they hold you to one subject, because career and marriage and a parent’s health cannot be covered properly in a single hour.
They describe what they see, with reasons. You push back. They engage with the pushback rather than deflecting it. Some of what they say lands hard and some of it misses, and they are comfortable being told which is which.
You leave with specific periods, a short list of what to do, and — sometimes — nothing to buy.
Where I fit, stated plainly

I am not going to tell you I am the best astrologer in Dhaka. I do not know every practitioner in this city and neither does anyone who publishes such a list. What I will say is that everything on this page is a standard I am willing to be held to, and you should hold whoever you choose to it as well — including me.
Common questions
How much should a good astrologer in Dhaka cost? Between 1,000 and 3,000 BDT for a prepared, full-length session with a named practitioner. Below that you are usually getting an app reading. Above it you are usually paying for reputation rather than additional skill.
Should I choose a Vedic or a Western astrologer? Vedic gives you far better timing tools — the dasha system has no real Western equivalent. Western tends to be stronger on psychology and motivation. Neither is superior; they answer different questions.
Is it worth seeing an astrologer if I do not fully believe in it? Yes, and scepticism makes you a better client. Ask hard questions during the session. A reading you cannot challenge is not worth paying for.
Can I consult from outside Bangladesh? Yes. Phone and video sessions work identically, and the fee does not change based on where you live.
What if I do not know my exact birth time? Rectification works backwards from dated life events — marriages, moves, job changes, bereavements — to narrow the ascendant to a workable window. It requires more preparation, not more money.
